The punishing, record-shattering heat of the last couple of days is about to come to an end. A slow-moving weather system will sag across the state and allow clouds and storms to develop this evening. As the front sinks through, drier and relatively cooler air moves in behind it. Our five-day heat wave comes to an end.
Tonight features warm and muggy weather with passing storms. Temperatures will drop quickly as the rain/storms pass through your neighborhood.
Thursday is overcast. The winds are off the ocean. That particular wind will cool things back to where they should be for this time of year, in the low 80s.
Thursday night features occasional showers and storms. Otherwise, cloudy conditions prevail. Winds directly off the ocean cool overnight lows back down to the low 60s. Very pleasant.
Humidity begins to creep back into the forecast on Friday. It's nothing too atrocious because temperatures will only be in the low 70s. Mainly cloudy skies with a passing shower are possible.
The weekend is looking a little dreary at the moment. Mainly cloudy with an opportunity for some wet moments. The front that eases the heat and humidity for us tonight will slide back north. As it does, it keeps the forecast unsettled, and the warmth and humidity will continue to rise. Our second heat wave of the summer could be on the horizon sometime early next week.
