You may be able to
find some relief from the excessive heat at the beach, depending on where
you are on the Jersey Shore.
Windward Beach in
Brick is a few miles inland, but even if the winds stay south, there should be
some cooling effects off the river.
An early dismissal was announced for the Brick Recreational
Department before it gets too hot to be outside. Even the young day-campers are feeling the heat.
“It’s going to be really hot,” says parent Kristen Fisco. “I'm just
happy the kids get to get out for a little while and actually have some fun
with some friends.”
Mornings provide the best relief if you're going
to be outside, and the same goes for your pets - Tom Souchek and Tom Dobko
rescued greyhounds and were out for a morning walk at Windward
Beach.
“It's
going to be way too hot to get them out later, so it's really, really important
to get them out at least the coolest of the morning,” says Souchek.
Coming up Thursday at Windward Beach is the
return of the summer concert series. Super TransAM will be performing, along
with fireworks to kick off the holiday weekend.
