Guide: Cooling centers around the tri-state area

Cooling centers are opening around the tri-state area to help residents during the current wave of scorching temperatures.
NOTE: Not all cooling centers in the list below are open, as some only open as needed. Masks and social distancing may be required at some cooling centers, so capacity may be limited. Please call the center before you head out.
Here's a list of some centers in the tri-state:

CONNECTICUT:

LONG ISLAND:

While the Nassau County has three designated cooling centers, Suffolk County does not. However, some towns offer cooling centers and areas where you can cool off. See below for some of the sites:

Town of Babylon
While the town does not set up any official cooling centers, members of the public who are having a hard time in the heat are welcome to come cool off and charge their phones in the Town Hall Annex in North Babylon 24/7. Additionally, our senior centers are currently open to the public. Seniors can call 631-464-4340 with any questions about current protocols.
