A health and wellness festival was held in Highland Park Friday.
People who attended the festival were able to try all kinds of produce grown in New Jersey. They also attended demonstrations about healthy food, yoga and aromatherapy.
The attendees were also able to get tips on meditation and chair massages.
Rebecca Hersh works with Main Street Highland Park representing downtown.
“This is our first one. We do a couple of special festivals at the Farmer’s Market every year. This is the first time we’ve done a health and wellness festival,” Hersh says.
Hersh says that they got the idea from the festival from St. Peter’s University Hospital – the event’s main sponsor.
“They wanted to come do health screenings, and we said it would make a great idea to do health screenings, and make it a big thing…get other health and wellness business and other organizations involved,” she says.
After the health screenings, attended enjoyed a free screening of the movie “E.T.”
