A car accident in Holmdel on Friday sent five people to the hospital.
A Toyota Prius driven by a 65-year-old woman and a Mazda CX-9 driven by a 69-year-old woman collided head-on around 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Route 34 and Roberts Road.
There were four people in the Toyota and one in the Mazda. Initial reports suggest multiple people were not responsive.
A witness who says he helped pull some of the victims out believes two people inside the Prius were exchange students. Residents say the owner of the Prius owns a nursery nearby.
The cause of the accident has not been released, and the crash is still under investigation.
