Hazmat crews were called to a crash involving a tractor-trailer in South Plainfield.
The crash happened on Clinton Avenue Tuesday morning. The driver lost control and crashed the truck, snapping a utility pole in the process.
A sign on the back of the truck indicated that it contained a “Class 8 corrosive,” meaning it could cause severe damage if any leaked out of the truck.
The hazmat crews made sure that nothing leaked onto the roadway or into the sewers.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
