It’s always good to have these reminders in mind while driving and dealing with winter weather.

- Stay home if you can. Only go out if you need to - even if you think you drive well in bad weather.

- Drive slowly and don’t slam on brakes. When driving on snow or ice, always take it slow and don't slam on your brakes. Get your foot off the accelerator and slowly hit your brakes.

- Don’t power up hills. If you have to go up an icy hill it can be dangerous. Try to get a little momentum going on a flat roadway before taking the hill.
