It seems that the Garden State has skipped over Thanksgiving and gone straight from Halloween to Christmas planning.
Many of the Spirit Halloween pop-up stores across New Jersey are closed and will soon be replaced with Christmas stores.
"Every year it's earlier and earlier," says Sayreville resident Mike Bloom. "Next year, it'll be Christmas stuff in the summertime"
Bloom may think he is kidding, but Christmas decorations are no joke for the owner of Matawan World of Gardening. Shop owner Alan Steiner says they have been setting up their Christmas display since August.
"We get told we are rushing the season, which we are not," he says. "It just takes so much time"
Steiner says it takes more than four months to set up the holiday display so it's ready for those who want to start their Christmas decorating early. He says it takes about seven days to take it all down.
Shoppers can now find Halloween items on clearance, right next to the candy canes and mistletoe.
