Parking and code enforcement officers in Haledon are now zipping around town in electric cars in an effort to both go green and save some green.
Officers have been using the electric Mini-Coopers for the past two weeks on their rounds. The electric cars cost $120 each per year to lease.
Mayor Domenick Stampone says the cars are already a success.
"No emissions, it doesn't burn any gas ? so you can kind of do the math pretty quickly," he says.
