E‑ZPass may replace transponders with digital windshield stickers

E‑ZPass may soon look very different for drivers across New Jersey.

The agency says it is testing a new sticker with a digital chip that could eventually replace the current white plastic transponder.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is now trying out the technology on its own vehicles.

If the test run goes well, officials say the stickers could be rolled out to drivers by the end of the year.
