Two gunmen held up an Uber driver and his three passengers in Linden early Tuesday morning.
Linden police say that the driver had three women in his car and stopped to pick up another passenger on East Blancke Street. When the driver pulled up, two men armed with guns approached the car and demanded everyone turn over their cellphones and money.
"We are trying to sort out how [the driver] knew these people," says Linden Police Capt. James Sarnicki. "I'm told sometimes there are other passengers in an Uber if they are all going along the same route. It's under investigation."
Anyone with any information about this crime is asked to contact Linden police.
