Baseball never took off in Europe, but that’s OK. Most of us have no idea what cricket is.
But this weekend, the Americans are coming in hot to London Stadium, and they are bringing the best rivalry in baseball with them.
The “London Series” will be a weekend tilt between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox – one of the best matchups in all of sports, no matter what continent you are on.

Here’s what you need to know:
Game 1: Saturday - Yankees at Red Sox – 1:10 p.m. – FOX, 101.9 FM
Game 2: Sunday – Yankees at Red Sox – 10:10 a.m. – ESPN, 101.9 FM
Venue: London Stadium, which was built for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Season Series: The Yankees have won four of the first five games so far this year. Each have been played at Yankee Stadium.
Who’s the home team? The Red Sox will be considered the home team for the London Series. The Yankees will visit Fenway twice this season rather than the usual three times.
Who’s on top? The Yankees enter the series in first place in the American League East (52-28). The Red Sox are in third (44-38).
Who’s pitching? The Red Sox are sending Rick Porcello to the mound for game 1 and Eduardo Rodriguez for game 2. The Yankees are countering with Masahiro Tanaka in game 1 and have indicated that Chad Green will take the hill in game 2, according to Yankees.com.
I’m knackered. Enjoy the games!
