Gov. Jon Corzine and Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie hit the ground running Wednesday morning after accepting their nominations.
Both Christie and Corzine began making their cases as to who's the better choice for governor. Heavy focus will be paid to the economy this election season, and both candidates are playing the blame game in regards to the recession. Christie blames the governor. Corzine blames former President George W. Bush.
"We've cut to [the] lowest level of spending," Corzine told News 12 New Jersey. "It's been 60 years since a governor has cut absolute spending."
Christie began firing on the incumbent governor in Saddle Brook, calling Corzine out of touch.
"He talks about tough choices, but he is just increasing taxes," says Christie. "That's not tough. That is the easy way out."
