Two medical examiners took the stand on Wednesday in the murder trial of Paul Caneiro.

The 59-year-old is accused of killing his brother, Keith Caneiro, and Keith's wife, Jennifer and their two children, Jesse and Sophia. The killings happened inside their Colts Neck home more than seven years ago.

The medical examiners testified on the condition of the bodies found inside the home, explaining the trauma each victim had.

They testified that Keith Caneiro died after being shot. They said he had bullet wounds in the head, back and chest. Jennifer Caniero died from blood loss after being shot and from breathing in carbon monoxide caused by the fire Paul Caneiro allegedly set inside the home.

Both children were stabbed multiple times. The testimony revealed that Sopha Caneiro was stabbed 17 times.

Members of the jury were seen crying during the testimony. Even Paul Caneiro was seen wiping tears from his eyes.

The judge excused the jury after the testimony and gave them the rest of the day off.

Court is expected to resume on Friday at 8 a.m.
