Paterson city officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new park on Clinton Street.
When it's done, it will have a playground, a water feature and an amphitheater to host arts and music events.
The space was formerly a vacant lot.
"We've been building in this neighborhood 38 years...We've helped over 300 families, but we understand that you have to build more than just homes. You need safe and healthy homes and safe and healthy neighborhoods, and that's what this is all about," says Stephen Kehayes, of the Paterson Habitat for Humanity.
Work on the park should be finished this winter. It will be open to the public next spring.
