The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of a Helmetta man wanted in connection to the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the United States Capitol.
Thursday was the second day that authorities were searching Middlesex County for 47-year-old Gregory Yetman, a former New Jersey National Guardsman who is wanted on federal charges.
Yetman is facing numerous charges, including assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers, obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder and engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds.
The FBI has released photos of Yetman that appear to show him using a large canister of pepper spray at the Capitol.
Authorities attempted to serve Yetman a warrant on Wednesday, but he ran off on foot into a wooded area and has evaded law enforcement ever since.
Armed agents went into the woods Thursday afternoon off Main Street. They were carrying high-powered weapons and were using a bloodhound to track Yetman.
Yetman is described as 6 feet tall, with blue eyes and blonde hair. He weighs 218 pounds. According to his LinkedIn page, Yetman received an associate degree in criminal justice and political science from Middlesex College in 2013.
The FBI says they have no plans to stop this search until Yetman is found.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Yetman should call the FBI in Newark at 973-792-3000. Authorities are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest.
