Large manhunt underway in Middlesex County for man wanted in Capitol riot

The FBI said in a statement that it is looking for Gregory Yetman, who is wanted in connection with the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are out in Middlesex County searching for a wanted fugitive.
Authorities say Gregory Yetman is still on the run. He is facing charges related to the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
The FBI and Jamesburg police tried to arrest Yetman Wednesday morning, but officials say he ran away into a nearby wooded area.
A command post was set up at the community center in Helmetta, where Yetman is from. The town remains on high alert.
Law enforcement agents descended on Yetman’s home Wednesday afternoon. Flashbang grenades were used as part of the search.
Local schools were briefly put in a shelter-in-place and some roads in the area were closed for a time.
“They’re determined, after a recent briefing with the FBI, to obtain this gentleman today. That is their effort,” says Helmetta Mayor Chris Slavecik. “I just want to reassure the community that we have your safety paramount."
The FBI Newark office wrote in a statement that they have brought in numerous resources and assets to assist in the search for Yetman. They say the public will continue to see an increased law enforcement presence around Helmatta. Chopper 12 was above the scene:
