A Bergen County grand jury has decided not to indict two Lyndhurst police officers who shot and killed a man in the Lyndhurst library last year.
Kevin Allen was shot and killed when he reportedly ran at officers while holding a utility knife on May 29, 2015.
Allen had a warrant out for his arrest at the time of the shooting.
Officials say that they interviewed 23 witnesses while investigating the crime. The witnesses included 12 civilians who were at the library at the time of the shooting.
The officers say that they originally pepper-sprayed Allen and tried other non-lethal means to get him to drop the knife before shooting him.
