New Jersey health officials have confirmed nearly 5,800 new positive COVID-19 tests on Friday and over 100 deaths.
Gov. Phil Murphy posted on Twitter that the state has reported 5,791 new positive PCR COVID-19 tests. The rate of transmission has trended higher – above the key benchmark of 1. It now sits at 1.02.
There are currently 3,669 COVID-19 patients in New Jersey hospitals, a second day of decline. There are 655 patients in the ICU and 439 on ventilators.
Officials also confirmed 112 COVID-19-related deaths. The statewide death toll now stands at 17,697.
