Gov. Phil Murphy and New Jersey Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli toured a COVID-19 vaccination center in Lakewood.
The Chemed Health Center is located just off Route 9 on Madison Avenue.
The governor was pleased to hear President Joe Biden announce that everyone who wants the vaccine should be able to sign up by May 1, adding that is consistent with what he and Persichilli expect in New Jersey as well.
Over 20,000 vaccines have been given at the facility already and they're looking to increase that number significantly as more doses become available.
With Passover quickly approaching, the governor was presented with a box of matzah after touring the vaccination tent. Before leaving, he talked of a significant increase of vaccinations soon in the state, saying he expects another two to three weeks of modest increases in vaccination supplies and then, in his words, it’s going to explode.
