Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) wants to spend more money on public education than he did last year.
The question of how the governor wants to spend the money on public education was proposed to Christopher Cerf, the acting state education commissioner today at a hearing.
Urban areas receive a majority of state aid, something many of the state's rural lawmakers want to even out. At the hearing, Cerf stated "spending on the right kids is important, but it's not only how much we spend which is the box we've been pushed into by courts, but its how well we spend it."
Construction of new school buildings, and the expansion of charter schools across New Jersey were also up for debate.
