Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) took his agenda for 2012 to urban voters today at a town hall in Irvington.

The governor acknowledged Irvington may not be the friendliest territory to lobby for the 2012 agenda that he laid out in Tuesday's State of the State address, but did his best to convince the hundreds who packed Christian Love Baptist Church that he shares their priorities.

Christie urged support for his 10-percent income tax cut, reform of teacher tenure and changes in sentencing for drug abusers.

The governor spoke and took audience questions for more than an hour and a half on education, employment and other issues. The town hall did not have the air of confrontation that has marked many of Christie's town halls.

Today's town hall was Christie's second town hall since the State of the State. The governor is due to deliver his budget address next month
