Gov. Chris Christie seems to be downplaying some of the recent disciplinary issues facing the Rutgers football team.

When asked about the recent arrests of several Rutgers University players in a string of violent crimes, the governor seemed to think a lot of it was being played up by the media.

"[Rutgers] is dealing with disciplinary problems with teenagers. This is not shocking. I'm a father to four. Having disciplinary problems with teenagers is the normal course on a college campus," he said while in New Hampshire Monday.

Meanwhile, an attorney for Leonte Carroo, the latest player arrested, tells News 12 New Jersey that he has no comment on a story in The Record that states Carroo slammed a woman down onto concrete.

Carroo was arrested Saturday and charged with simple assault in a domestic violence incident. Rutgers University police would not confirm the details of the assault. His court appearance originally scheduled for Wednesday has been waived.

Another player, Lloyd Terry, appeared in court Tuesday to face charges stemming from a home invasion. Terry is accused of going into a dorm room and stealing drugs and money.

Five other Rutgers University football players were arrested for various crimes. The six players have all been kicked off the team. Carroo is on indefinite suspension.
