A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged after an attempted vehicle burglary early Saturday in Gloucester Township, police said.
Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. to Whitall Drive in the Sicklerville section of town for a report of someone trying to break into a vehicle. Authorities said the suspect fled but was later spotted by a motorist and found by police in the nearby Terrestria Development.
Police said the teen ignored commands to stop and ran before being taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit. He was found with burglary tools and charged with attempted burglary, resisting arrest by flight, possession of burglar tools and criminal mischief. He was released pending court proceedings.
One officer suffered a minor injury during the pursuit.
