A school and church in Clark reopened Monday after a busted gas line forced brief morning evacuations.
Firefighters say the 100-year-old underground gas line broke under the pressure of heavy equipment. The incident caused the two buildings to be evacuated near Valley Road and Central Avenue off exit 135 of the Garden State Parkway.
No injuries were reported and firefighters say the possibility of lingering gas poses no health risks.
