A man has been sentenced to six years in state prison for starting a fire at a restaurant in downtown Somerville that left several firefighters injured.
Prosecutors say 25-year-old Amr Khodeer started a fire in the basement of King Tut's restaurant on West Main Street in June 2024.
The fire quickly spread to other businesses and homes. Four firefighters were hurt battling the flames, and one Somerville police officer was also injured.
Officials say Khodeer ran from the scene, stole a construction vehicle, and sped off before crashing in Bridgewater. He was later arrested.
