Fresh milk from New Jersey cows is hitting store shelves this week and will help support local farms.
Farmers claim ?Jersey Fresh Skim Free? is fat-free milk that tastes like 2 percent milk. One-hundred percent of the milk comes from New Jersey dairy farms. Although it costs more than regular milk, some customers say they are willing to pay the price to support a local product.
?I think it?s a good idea to support our farms,? Rutherford resident Janet White said.
According to farmers, the milk is priced less than the organic brands and it tastes better.
?Jersey Fresh Skim Free? milk is hitting supermarket shelves in five states this week. Twenty-seven cents from every half gallon sale goes back to local dairy farmers.
