Freehold Township?s recent ban on the sale of realistic-looking toy guns has some calling for a bigger crackdown.
The township passed an ordinance that bans the sale of realistic-looking guns to people under the age of 18. Many parents say they are happy about the move.
Other parents say the ban is a step in the right direction, but they also say it doesn?t go far enough.
?I think they should not sell the guns at all, there is no reason for it,? resident Brad Korey said.
Captain James Lasky agrees. He commends the township?s efforts, but says the ordinance needs to be taken further. He says he doesn?t want to see any realistic toy guns in the hands of minors.
A similar ordinance was recently passed in Atlantic City.
