Hackettstown police say a goat that escaped the Hackettstown Livestock Cooperative Auction Market more than a year ago has finally been captured.
The goat, named “Fred” by people in town, had been living among a group of deer in a wooded area near the auction house.
It was finally captured by a town resident and returned back to the owner, who originally purchased it from the auction house.
Police say that a piglet that escaped the market is still on the loose. That piglet has not yet been given a name.
