There is a lot of energy in the ocean right now because of the onshore flow and a distant tropical system.
Please be extra cautious when swimming because there is an elevated risk for undertows and rip currents. Always swim in front of the lifeguard stand if you go down the shore this weekend.
The smoke and haze that has had New Jersey under a veil of unhealthy air is now showing signs of lifting and moving away. Skies will be bluer heading into the weekend, and as a result, the temperatures will start to warm back up to where they should be for this time of year. Low 80s for Saturday and even warmer on Sunday.
Early next week looks like summer again with heat and a smidgen of humidity creeping into the forecast. The weather has been dry and will continue to be dry, so be sure to throw a little water onto the gardens, lawns and plants around the home.
There is an opportunity that by this time next week, a weather system could deliver some rain showers and storms. Until then, enjoy what we got, when we got it.
