A $1,000 reward is being offered to help police find whoever is responsible for torturing a puppy.
It is believed that an injured 2-year-old pit bull found in Ocean Township Wednesday is the "bait" dog in an underground dog fighting scheme. Chief Buddy Amato from the Monmouth County SPCA Police says, "Someone used this dog for practice for another dog to tear up. It's a sick act. There is just no excuse for it."
Anyone with information is asked to call Chief Amato at the Monmouth County SPCA Police.
