Former postal worker from Jersey City admits to repeatedly burglarizing offices, stealing mail

A former postal worker from Jersey City has admitted to breaking into post offices to steal mail on six different occasions.
Zyeama Johnson, 31, was employed by the United States Postal Service and worked at a Hudson County office prior to being terminated.
Investigators say she repeatedly entered that office, along with another county location, after hours between January and February of 2023.
She was caught by law enforcement and arrested while attempting to leave an office building on Feb. 7.
Johnson pleaded guilty to the burglary offenses in Newark Federal Court on July 28.
Each burglary charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, or twice the value of the gain or loss, whichever is greater.
