Penns Grove man sentenced for weapons charges after high-speed traffic stop

A Salem County man will go to prison for eight years on weapons charges.

In 2023, Akeem Statin, of Penns Grove, was driving in and out of traffic at more than 100 mph on the Atlantic City Expressway when troopers pulled him over.

Police say Statin was driving under the influence, and he was found with a loaded handgun in the center console. This broke the terms of a prior conviction, police say.
