Caretakers caring for Aurora, a bear cub found injured roadside after being struck by a vehicle in Alexandria Township, shared an encouraging update Tuesday, reporting small signs of progress as she enters her fifth day of recovery in critical condition.
While Aurora remains unconscious for most of the day, caretakers at Woodlands Wildlife Rescue noted significant milestones over the last 24 hours. On Monday, she managed to push herself up onto all four paws using the enclosure wall for support. By Tuesday, she pulled off the same feat entirely on her own without using the wall.
Though the physical effort took a heavy toll and sent her back to sleep shortly after, staff described the progress as a major boost of hope for her recovery team.
Caregivers continue to monitor Aurora around the clock as she pushes through her critical recovery window, thanking the public for their ongoing support and well wishes.
