Joseph Lewin, a former gymnastics coach in Rockland County, has been sentenced to 10 years of probation for sexual conduct against a child.
The sentencing, which took place Tuesday in Rockland County Court, follows Lewin pleading guilty to sexually abusing a female under the age of 13 while serving as a gymnastic coach in his gym in Hillburn.
During the hearing, Lewin, 73, expressed remorse for his actions. As part of his sentence, he is required to register as a sex offender. Notably, the victim did not provide a statement in court.
This recent guilty plea follows Lewin's release on parole just months ago, after serving three and a half years in state prison for molesting another student. The previous plea involved sexual abuse allegations from seven other girls, all of whom were students at Lewin's gyms in Suffern and Hillburn.
