The former director of recreation in Brick Township has pleaded guilty to pocketing money from the town.
Daniel Santaniello admitted to issuing fake permits to organizations that paid to use township fields and utilities, but instead of depositing the money into the town's accounts, he kept it for himself.
Ocean County prosecutors have ordered Santaniello to pay back over $9,000 in restitution. He is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
