It was a sunny and warm start to Independence Day in New Jersey, but clouds and rain are now rolling in.
News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says towns south of Interstate 195 may see scattered rain showers this evening that may threaten some fireworks shows. Towns north of the highway should see mostly cloudy skies.
Curren says that heavier rainfall is expected Tuesday morning but should clear up by the afternoon. Tuesday afternoon should see mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s.
The rest of the week is expected to see mostly sunny skies, but scattered thunderstorms are possible. Curren says temperatures are expected to reach into the 90s for the rest of the week.
