Fleet Week, an event held to honor the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, kicked off around the city Wednesday.
This year, the largest vessel that'll be on display along the Hudson River is the USS Iwo Jima. Bronx residents will be able to tour the ship, which sailors say feels like a city unto itself.
The military has cut back on the number of ships partaking in Fleet Week to save money this year, but it doesn't plan to scale back on the festivities.
