A young mother who escaped a house fire with her family was then injured after a firetruck struck a parked truck, which then struck her.
The fire broke out at the woman’s home on Marcellus Avenue near Route 71 around 3:45 p.m.
Officials say that after the family escaped the fire, the mother had handed off her baby to a neighbor. As she stood by a parked pickup truck, a firetruck backed into the truck, which then hit the woman.
She was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be OK.
Crews were able to get the fire mostly under control about an hour after it started.
Route 71 was closed for a time in the area of the fire, which caused some traffic issues around Manasquan.
