Firefighters released from hospital after chemical exposure in Fair Lawn crash

Ten firefighters have been released from the hospital after they were exposed to chemicals found in one of the vehicles involved in a crash on Route 208 North.

Fair Lawn police say the call came in at 8:48 p.m. Thursday after two cars crashed on the highway near Maple Avenue. They say that one of the cars overturned and that several people in both cars suffered a variety of injuries.

The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Ten firefighters were taken to the hospital to be evacuated after they came into contact with cleaning chemicals. Officials say the firefighters did not suffer any serious injuries.
