Firefighters battle 5-alarm fire in Bound Brook

Firefighters were dispatched to a building in Bound Brook Sunday to battle a five-alarm fire.

Firefighters were dispatched to Bound Brook Sunday to battle a five-alarm fire.
Residents say the fire started at an apartment complex under construction on Main Street.
A home in front of the complex also caught fire and collapsed.
The fire spread across the street to another apartment complex that was also under construction.

A car dealership, a liquor store and a Dunkin' were also affected by the fire.  Brush fires were also reported.
Surrounding streets were closed off, and Bound Brook police asked residents to stay away from the area.
NJ Transit has suspended service on the Raritan Valley between Bridgewater and Dunellen in both directions due to fire activity. It is providing substitute bus service.
Some residents near the fire said they lost power.
There is no word on any injuries.
