Fire displaces at least 30 in Paterson

An overnight fire ripped through three homes in Paterson and left more than 30 people without a place to live. Fire officials say the fire broke out in a home on Hamilton Avenue at around 11:30 p.m.

An overnight fire ripped through three homes in Paterson and left more than 30 people without a place to live.
Fire officials say the fire broke out in a home on Hamilton Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and quickly spread to two other homes.
Neighbors worked together to help catch children and adults who jumped or were dropped from the third-floor window.
No injuries were reported.
The Red Cross of North Jersey says it is helping provide clothing, food and temporary shelter to 34 people from six families.
The cause the of the fire remains under investigation.
