A fire destroyed a Mercer County restaurant early Tuesday morning.
Hightstown fire officials say that the fire started around 5:15 a.m. inside the Antojitos Ecuatorianos restaurant on the 100 block of Stockton Street.
Crews from neighboring towns were brought in to stop the fire from spreading to the liquor store next door. Officials say that firefighters were able to get the fire under control within minutes of arriving.
Fire Chief Scott Jenkins tells News 12 New Jersey that it is believed that the fire started due to an overloaded electrical outlet, but the official cause is still under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
