A man was killed and another 35 others were forced out of their homes after a fire in Newark Monday.
The fire destroyed three houses on Parker Street, just off Bloomfield Avenue.
Firefighters say the 50-year-old victim never made it off the third floor in the center dwelling, where the fire apparently began. Strong wind spread the flames to neighboring homes. The fire was under control by 4:30 a.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The victim?s name has yet to be released.
