A movie crew moved into The New Community Corporation Extended Care Center in Newark to shoot a film that will hopefully shed some light on those suffering from Alzheimer's and dementia.
Director and producer Ralph Scott is loosely basing the film on his own family, and his father who suffered from dementia.
Facility administrator Betty Lawson says about 35 percent of residents at the center are suffering from the disease. "I'm hoping the film will let everyone realize you do not have to be afraid or ashamed to say you or your loved ones have Alzheimer's or dementia," said Lawson.
