(07/12/06) TRENTON ? FEMA representatives have made themselves available to New Jersey flood victims to make sure residents don?t leave relief money on the table.
Residents wishing to apply for financial assistance can do so at one of the FEMA disaster relief centers in New Jersey. Many residents say the frequent flooding made the most recent incident feel like a bad case of déjà vu. However, FEMA representatives urge residents not to grow complacent when it comes to asking for help with the application process. They say even though residents may have applied many times before, procedures constantly update and change.
FEMA representatives say it?s important for flood victims to know they may be eligible for a small business administration loan, even if they are homeowners. They also say residents are not obligated to take a loan if they are accepted.
