The father and son accused of murdering a family member and dumping the body were arraigned Wednesday.
Belleville residents Peter Toscano, 20, and his father Gerald, 46, both pleaded not guilty. Peter is accused of killing his cousin, Jordan Vorhees, and then dumping the body with the aid of his father.
Prosecutors allege that Peter shot Vorhees in the Toscanos? home on Smallwood Avenue earlier this month. Though police continue to search for the body in the Meadowlands, the case moved forward without the physical evidence. Prosecutors say this case is unique in that both defendants and the victim are related.
Peter remains jailed on $750,000 bail. Gerald was released Wednesday on $75,000 bail.
