A father accused of hindering apprehension after an alleged attack by his teenage son appeared in Passaic Municipal Court Wednesday.

Jose Concepcion?s 16-year-old son and a 14-year-old were arrested Sunday as juveniles and charged with assault. Police say the two teens hit 16-year-old Jonathan Flores with a baseball bat after a game.

Flores suffered injuries to his face and leg and is recovering in the hospital from emergency surgery.

Concepcion told a judge that he would be hiring his own attorney to prepare for his next court appearance in Passaic County Court in Paterson next month.
