The Farmingdale State men's basketball team improved to 13-0 in the Skyline Conference and extended their winning streak to 17 straight games, with an 86-69 victory over Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday evening.

The Rams (21-1) trailed 11-7 early, after the Knights (5-17, 3-10 Skyline) hit three early 3-pointers. Following an FSC timeout, senior forward Nick Hurowitz (Mount Sinai, NY) recorded seven consecutive points to put Farmingdale State in front, 14-11.

After a pair of conventional three-point plays by Rams' senior guard Aaron Davis (Valley Stream, NY) and Hurowitz, freshman forward Liam Buckley (Manhasset, NY) knocked down a 3-pointer and senior guard Jevon Santos (Elmont, NY) converted two free-throws to give FSC a 25-11 advantage.

Mount Saint Mary hit a 3-pointer to end the run by the Rams, but a Kentrell Evans (Brooklyn, NY) layup and a 3 by Santos gave Farmingdale State a commanding 30-14 lead.

The Knights outscored the Rams 13-9 in the final 6:22 of the first half as they entered the break trailing by 12, 39-27. Hurowitz registered 12 points and six rebounds in the first 20 minutes.

The Rams held a 42-30 advantage and used an Evans layup and a 3-pointer by Davis to go up 47-30.

Farmingdale State led 51-35 with 14:43 to play before Hurowitz and Davis tallied layups to push the advantage to 20.

MSMC cut their deficit to 12, 63-51, with 6:41 on the clock, but two free-throws by the Rams allowed them to regain a 14-point edge. The Knights followed with back-to-back layups to close the gap to only 10, 65-55, before Davis hit a 3-pointer to halt the run.

The Knights followed with a quick 9-3 spurt to cut it to just seven, 71-64, with 3:25 to play, but Farmingdale State closed the game on a 15-4 run as they went on for the 17-point victory, 86-69.

Hurowitz recorded his third straight double-double and finished with a game-high 24 points and 11 rebounds. Davis produced 21 points and six assists and is now just 19 points shy of 1,000 career points (includes 176 at Geneseo). Evans registered nine points, eight rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot, while Santos had nine points, three rebounds and two assists. Senior guard Corey Powell (Valley Stream, NY) filled the stat sheet with eight points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

The Rams will next head on the road to play Manhattanville on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m.
