The family of a Bergen County woman missing for nearly a week is hoping the public can help aid in the search for her.
Family members describe Meaghan McCallum, 30, as a loving and caring person who enjoyed socializing and helping others. She has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and had stopped taking her medication. Her family thinks this may have played a role in her disappearance.
The Oakland resident was last seen at her grandmother's home in Montvale last Tuesday night. The Oakland Police Department is treating this as a missing persons case.
McCallum left with only the clothes on her back. She drives a black 1998 Subaru Impreza with license plate number N32-EAY. Her family says it's particularly strange that she did not take her beloved dog with her.
"We were really concerned right away because Meg goes everywhere with her dog. They are attached at the hip," says her mother Heidi McCallum. "She even takes her dog to work with her. So right away, we felt there was something not right."
The family has launched a page and is passing out fliers in the hopes someone has seen her or her car. They have also set up a tip line. Text MEG to 646-663-5455 to provide information.
